March 30, 2026 | Frost Bank Center, San Antonio, TX | 7:00 PM CDT | NBC Sports Chicago

The Chicago Bulls (28–43) travel to San Antonio to face the Spurs (31–40) at Frost Bank Center tonight, and this is our chance to see Victor Wembanyama up close on the road. They’re 12th in the West and rebuilding around arguably the most talented young player in basketball. We’re 11th in the East and fifteen games under .500 with our season over.

The Spurs have Wembanyama—a 7’4″ generational talent who can do everything. Devin Vassell provides perimeter shooting. Jeremy Sochan brings defensive energy. They’re young, exciting, and playing at home.

We’re trying to keep up with DeMar DeRozan’s mid-range game and hoping Anfernee Simons and Collin Sexton get hot from three. Against Wembanyama’s rim protection and length on the road, that’s going to be tough.

For Bulls fans, this is our chance to see Wembanyama on the road—and maybe steal a win against another young, rebuilding team.

Where the Bulls Stand (Still Bad)

Record: 28–43 (11th in East)

We’re fifteen games under .500, and the season’s been over for weeks. The defense is terrible (120.6 points allowed per game). The rebounding is awful (42.7 per game vs San Antonio’s 47.3). On the road against Wembanyama, both weaknesses will get exposed.

Key Players:

  • DeMar DeRozan: Still getting his mid-range buckets, needs a big game on the road
  • Anfernee Simons: Inconsistent all season—desperately needs to show up
  • Collin Sexton: Provides energy off the bench, but not enough

Billy Donovan keeps preaching defense and execution. Against Victor Wembanyama and the Spurs on the road, we’ll need perfection just to stay competitive.

The San Antonio Spurs: Rebuilding Around a Generational Talent

Record: 31–40 (12th in West)

The Spurs are rebuilding, but they have Victor Wembanyama—a 7’4″ generational talent who does everything. He protects the rim, shoots threes, handles the ball, passes, and dominates on both ends. Devin Vassell is a quality perimeter shooter. Jeremy Sochan brings defensive energy.

Key Players:

  • Victor Wembanyama (C): Generational 7’4″ talent who does everything on both ends
  • Devin Vassell (G/F): Quality perimeter shooter and secondary scorer
  • Jeremy Sochan (F): Defensive-minded forward with energy

The Numbers:

  • 112.8 points per game (developing offense)
  • 115.2 points allowed per game (solid defense with Wembanyama)
  • 47.3 rebounds per game (dominate the glass with Wembanyama’s length)
  • Young, energetic, playing at home

They’re rebuilding, but Wembanyama changes everything at home. He’s that good.

Breaking Down the Matchup

Category Bulls Spurs
Points Per Game 114.5 112.8
Points Allowed 120.6 115.2
Assists Per Game 29.0 26.7
3-Pointers Made 14.4 12.9
Rebounding 42.7 47.3

We score slightly more. They defend better thanks to Wembanyama. They rebound way better with Wembanyama’s length. We pass more and shoot more threes.

But Victor Wembanyama is a game-changer at home. His rim protection and length will affect everything we try to do.

What the Bulls Need to Do on the Road

DeMar DeRozan Has to Be Perfect
Against Wembanyama’s rim protection on the road, DeMar needs to use his mid-range game perfectly. 35+ points would give us a chance.

Hit Threes at an Elite Clip
If Simons, Sexton, and our shooters can knock down 18+ threes at 45%+, we have a puncher’s chance on the road. If we go cold, we’re getting blown out.

Someone Has to Minimize Victor Wembanyama
This is basically impossible. Wembanyama is 7’4″ and can do everything at home. But make him work. Don’t let him dominate easily.

Win the Rebounding Battle (Not Happening)
Wembanyama’s length will dominate the glass. We can’t let them get easy offensive rebounds.

Don’t Get Embarrassed on the Road
They’re rebuilding too. Both teams are bad. But if Wembanyama makes us look silly on the road, that’s embarrassing.

What San Antonio Will Bring

Victor Wembanyama will dominate at home with rim protection, blocks, threes, handles, and passing. Devin Vassell will knock down perimeter shots. Jeremy Sochan will bring defensive energy.

Wembanyama’s length and talent will be on full display at home. He’s that special.

Bulls Fan Prediction: We Get Handled on the Road

Final Score: Spurs 112, Bulls 106

DeMar DeRozan battles and drops 34 points, but Wembanyama’s rim protection makes him work for everything. Anfernee Simons gets hot briefly and scores 24. We hang around for a half behind three-point shooting.

But Victor Wembanyama dominates at home—26 points, 15 rebounds, 6 blocks, showing why he’s generational. Devin Vassell adds 25. The Spurs’ length and Wembanyama’s impact pull away late.

Six-point loss on the road. We compete, but Wembanyama’s too good.

Why This Game Matters (Even Though We’re Probably Losing)

We’re 11th in the East. The season’s over. But this is Victor Wembanyama on the road—a generational talent we might not see up close often.

And we’re both rebuilding teams. If we can compete with them, that’s something.

DeMar DeRozan deserves to compete. And maybe—just maybe—we can catch them on an off night on the road.

Realistically? We’re getting beaten on the road by a generational talent. But it’s basketball. Anything can happen.

See Red. Let´s go Bulls!!!
