The “Pro Football Legends Classic” hosted guests and former NFL players for three days of festivities, with a portion of proceeds benefiting the Children’s Diagnostic & Treatment Center (CDTC).
The CDTC, one of the largest children’s agencies in South Florida, provides medical care, case management, social services and other types of intervention to children and adolescents with chronic illnesses and development disabilities.
The event, which was Jan. 20-22, included participants such as Reidel Anthony, Cornelius Bennett, Ki-Jana Carter, Anthony Muñoz, Bob Griese, OJ McDuffie, Dwight Stephenson, John Randle, Andre Reed, Duane Starks and Jack Youngblood. Spectators were welcome to attend both golf events.
Players checked-in Jan. 20 and attend a VIP opening reception at the Hilton Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort.
“Even though we are not hosting Super Bowl in South Florida this year, we are proud to celebrate the football season with these NFL stars and golfers with warm temps, welcoming beaches and cheering fans,” said Nicki E. Grossman, president of the Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention & Visitors Bureau.
Players and guests will enjoyed a casual golf outing Jan. 21 at the Jacaranda Golf Club, followed by a fundraising reception and dinner-cruise aboard the Floridian Princess.
