MOD WINE LOUNGE AND A WHOLE HEAP INTRODUCE NEW WINE LABEL
Fort Lauderdale Celebrity Chef Chad Thilborger Introduces Whole Heap Vines
with the Launch of “Brilliante” on June 15
FORT LAUDERDALE — Briliante, a stunning Italian white wine, is the premiere product of the Whole Heap Wines label, a partnership between Fort Lauderdale’s Mod Wine Lounge and South Florida Celebrity Chef Chad Thilborger. Launching at an introductory event and bottle signing on Wednesday, June 15 at Mod Wine Lounge, Brilliante is the Italian word for diamond — an appropriate name for this amazing white wine.
Brilliante is from Cascina del Pozzo in Italy’s Piedmont region. Thilborger and Frank Ruppen of Mod Wine Lounge worked with the Azienda family vintners to develop this light flavorful arneis, which is aged for six months in stainless steel. Brilliante pairs beautifully with seafood and cheeses, and is excellent for South Florida summer afternoons and evening gatherings.
“Winemaker Gianmario Azienda and his family have a passion and commitment for winemaking that matches my passion and commitment for quality, authentic food and drink,” said Thilborger, host of the syndicated cooking show Dig In Y’All and author of the popular food memoir A Whole Heap of Goodness. “I love family and beautiful stories and am thrilled to partner with great people like those at Mod and Cascina del Pozzo.”
Mod Wine Lounge owner Ruppen said, “It’s wonderful to support a small estate producing such wonderful and unique wines. The arneis varietal is called the ‘little rascal’ because it’s often difficult and temperamental — so it’s a perfect fit for our South Florida partnership!”
Thilborger’s A Whole Heap and Mod Wine Lounge will launch a Portuguese red blend this fall under the Whole Heap Vines label.
Brilliante premieres with a launch and bottle signing on Wednesday, June 15 from 6pm to 10pm at Mod Wine Lounge, 1828 East Sunrise Blvd., Fort Lauderdale.
