Halloween falls on a Saturday this year, and Chicago’s Asian nightlife community is marking it in River North. On October 31, Asian Elements takes over Fame Nightclub at 157 W Ontario St for Halloween Night with Comrade Dimps, a 21-plus party built around costumes and open access between two floors.
Asian Elements is the party brand of Chicago promoter Gary Fabian, who founded the Asian night at Sound-Bar more than a decade ago and has thrown multiple Halloween parties under the Asian Elements banner. This year’s edition leans into the looks guests dream up for the holiday: villains and heroines, anime icons, K-drama leads, and the group costumes that end up all over everyone’s feeds.
The music starts at 11 PM on the first floor with Comrade Dimps, who spearheaded a 500-plus RSVP North Coast festival pre-party with Elements in early September. With both floors open, guests can move between rooms and DJs all night, from the main floor at Fame to the upstairs room at Lore.
The night is built to be social. Friend groups tend to arrive in coordinated looks, the two-floor layout gives guests room to mingle between sets, and Asian Elements’ regulars mix with newcomers from across the city’s Asian community and beyond.
Entry works through an RSVP and a password. Guests RSVP on Partiful and say “ELEMENTS” at the door. Ladies are free all night, and guys are free before midnight with reduced cover after. The party is 21 and over, and a valid ID is required.
Costumes are strongly encouraged, and organizers recommend arriving early, since Halloween Saturday is one of River North’s busiest nights of the year.
